Legend Has It | Run the Jewels

With a surprise, midnight release #RTJ dropped their newest project #RTJ3 on Christmas day.  In true RTJ fashion, they're giving you politically threatening music over heavily bassed beats with a hint of grunge.  As a fan of Killer Mike from his Purple Ribbons days, I'm always excited to hear what Killa Kill from the Ville has to say.  Given how vocal he was during the 2016 election process, you can expect that a lot of his same sentiments are carried out through the music.  The album contained a surprise feature from the Miami bad bitch, Trina, but the particular track left me a little disappointed.  Collectively, the album is in my favorites and is a good way to close out 2016. Legend Has It is definitely one of my faves and deserves major radio spins, but since we are given pretty much one-type of music shoved down our throats that RTJ doesn't necessarily fit in, you shouldn't hold your breath for that one.  I'm officially adding RTJ to my 2017 concert must-sees.
