Waves | Normani x 6lack
Just like she begins the song, I thanked God that the production on this song was right. If you caught my review of her previous release with Calvin Harris, you know I was disappointed in the production of Normani’s first solo release. This song is more of what I imagined how her artistry would be…and of course, some other kind of dance bops. I was excited yet nervous to hear this, but halfway through the song only hearing Normani, I was sold. 6lack came in a little off to me, but his verse picks up as he dabbles back into his rapper 6lack bag. I’m digging it, and I think it’s worthy to add to my Geeked Music playlist. After hearing that Normani would be opening up for Ariana Grande on her Sweetener Tour, I was wondering if we would get more music from her to perform since I could only recall the release with Khalid and the recent 2-pack Calvin collab as non-5th Harmony songs. She’s on a roll now so I’m excited to hear more from her and see her grow into the Beyonce of her generation, that she’s meant to be.
